Neighborhood
Norfolk
Ghent, the water, and a real downtown
Norfolk is where a lot of Hampton Roads buyers start when they want older streets, a shorter commute to the bases, or a house with a porch instead of a cul-de-sac. I grew up in the region and have lived in Norfolk.
Places clients ask about
- Ghent
- Freemason
- Downtown
- Larchmont
- Ocean View
- Colonial Place
Worth knowing first
- Older housing stock means inspections matter. Foundations, roofs, and updated systems should be in the offer strategy, not an afterthought.
- Downtown and Ghent feel urban. Ocean View feels like a beach neighborhood. They are not interchangeable, even when the prices overlap.
- Parking, flood history, and renovation limits change by block. A local walk-through beats a map pin.
